Big Wight to take a break in 2009There will be no Big Wight/Wight Diamond Festival in 2009. After thirteen fantastic years (more if you count our very early Weekend Breaks), we've decided to rest our Isle of Wight event to give us time to concentrate on future development. We have plans in place for some new events on the Island in 2010, including the development of the excellent Big Wight Enduro route that we launched in 2008. The Wight Diamond Festival has been one of our favourite events to run over the years. We'd like to thank all of you who have supported and enjoyed the event, and hope you've as many great memories of the weekend as we do. Watch out for news of our future plans for Island riding! |

Big Wight event results due Thursday (UPDATE)Well, there clear up from the Festival is over and I'm back on the mainland and in the office (boo!) Thanks to all of you who came over and contributed to another great weekend - although no thanks to whoever decided to make a "souvenir" of one of our rather expensive feather banners at the entrance to the events field. Not wanting to lay it on too thick, but Big Wight costs enough to run already, relative to the income it creates, without having to replace stolen infrstructure. If whoever took wants to get in touch with us and arrange it's return, we'll be happy to put it down to high spirits and say no more about it. Onto more positive things. Event results from the weekend will be online tomorrow (Thursday). UPDATE: Results will be appearing over the next couple of hours here. |
