Autumn Series 2004: Series Final - Nov 14, Kintbury
The Autumn Series Final at Kintbury took place in the shadow of Combe Gibbet on Sunday and with the first signs of winter bringing some early frost and ice to the course.
Rick Fetherstone (Mosquito bikes) duly wrapped up the overall series win with another first place and Nick Calkin (Allparts auto) scored another victory in Single Vets to finish third overall and secure a comfortable margin at the top of our first Navigator Rankings list when it is published later this week. Nicks anticipated duel with Sid Hardy for supremacy in the vets class this Autumn didn't materialise after a broken pedal put Sid out of the contest early on.
The full Autumn Series results will be posted by the end of the week. The closest contest in the end has been in Mens Team, where Nigel Collins and David Sawyer have done enough at Kintbury to push leaders Chris Reed and Tim Underwood to the wire, but was it enough to beat them? Check back in a couple of days to find out and to see where you stood in the autumn series and where you stand on our first overall rankings list. And join us again on December 12th in Shackleford, when it's clean slates all round for the start of the three race Winter Series.
