Fat Tyre Navigator - Carhampton, 9th May 2004

Despite some early morning rain and a cool start, the Carhampton Navigator delivered a little early taste of summer and by midday it was definitely sunshine and t-shirt weather.

The final round of the Fat Tyre winter series saw a few surprises - John Platt and Mike Davies finally got the better of Matt Kemp and Giles Hudson in the Mens Team category by just the narrowest of margins. in the absence of series winner Rick featherstone, Kevin Thomas took top honours in Single Men with an impressive 570 points and Nick Calkin consolidated his Single Vets title with another victory, despite a bad start to his ride.

Neither of them were able to claim the top score on the day, which for the first time everin a Fat Tyre went to the winners of the Mixed Team category - well done to Jay and Maddie Horton for an excellent 580 points.

If the good weather on Exmoor gave you a taste for sunny Navigator riding then good news - we are running a three race Summer Navigator series this year - dates and locations below.
