Our first Sunday Sportive started in glorious Spring sunshine and has ended in similar Autumn weather. And, given that we chose the wettest summer on record to launch the series, we really have been blessed with some great weather for these events. Here's to similar luck next year!
The Gatwick ride wasn't without it's challenges though. In spite of the sun it stayed surprisingly cold for much of the day and the course had a sting in it's middle too; most of the modest overall height gain was concentrated in the middle third, making for a tougher day out than the profile suggested. Everyone seemed to enjoy the route though; you can still find soome stunning riding even in a crowded corner of the country like this!
The 2007 season may be behind us, but the first of our 2008 dates are already confirmed, with the rest to be finalised very shortly. So thanks to all of you who have supported the rides this year, keep riding through the winter and we'll see you next year for a bigger and better season of Sunday Sportives!
