First Sunday Sportive gets season off to a flying start!
Our first Sunday Sportive has been and gone and it was a great success! Good
weather encouraged over 150 riders to take on an early season battle of attrition
against the relentless Chiltern Hills. The short sharp climbs kept on coming,
testing riders and making it hard to find a rhythm. It's a stunning area to
ride though and with full route signing and two feed stations to keep everyone
fulled up and on track, the drop out rate was very low and almost everyone
completed their course. Mark Harding from cyclosport.co.uk was there to report
on the ride - you can read about his day here.
It was great to see such a good mix of riders there too; there were cyclosportive veterans taking on one of their the first serious outings of the season, alongside a good number of mountain bike regulars enjoying a little bit of tarmac crossover time, and leisure riders just taking the ride at their own pace. Exactly what the Sunday Sportives are about!
The next Sunday Sportive is at Bow Brickhill near Milton Keynes on June 17th. Don't miss it!
