A Great Cranleigh Debut!
We had a great day for our first event from Cranleigh, with a perfect spring day, plus the lure of those great hills, really bringing out the crowds for the ride.
A midweek dump of heavy rain couldn't dampen the enthusiasm and did little to hurt the trails either, which stayed fast and fun, if a little splashy (more than a little in the case of the descent before Winterfold, which was doing it's best impression of a stream, but it was fun, wasn't it?)
Thanks to all our helpers, Red Planet Bikes, and to Cranleigh School for being superb hosts. And thanks to Satmap for coming along a loaning out demo models of their excellent GPS system we hope you were as impressed by it as we are!
While we were at the event, we were made aware of plans by Europa Oil & Gas to construct a drill site in Coldharbour, very close to the event area. if you enjoyed riding the route this weekend, if you're local this part of the Downs or if you just care about what goes on in our riding and countryside areas, this might something you'll want to be aware of. You can read the case against the development here; we'll let you make up your own mind about the debate.
Spring seems to be well on it's way, so let's hope it's with us in full force for the next Trail Ride in Princes Risborough!
