ELAN VALLEY

Some 20 miles north of Brecon lies Elan Valley, a mountain bikers dream. A superb mix of terrain including wide fire trails, exposed single track, steep climbs, fast descents and open moorland.

Elan Valley has been well publicised for hosting many top off road events in Llantrwyd Wells, the base for our trips. Llantrwyd is well placed to tackle trails in all directions including the near by reservoir runs and the popular forest tracks of Tywi forest.

Although generally not as technical as it's nearby partner, the Brecon Beacons, it is equally enjoyable and offers many fine rides. We are also blessed with a rather special bunkhouse in this area a bunkhouse which is right next door to the pub ! What a dream, top trails and a ride guaranteed to finish at a pub that really is magic. The bunkhouse has good bike storage, lounge facilities and room for large groups.

Llantwryd Wells is located some 20 miles north of Brecon, although you must negotiate the mountains in between or take the more indirect route via Builth Wells.
