In case you haven’t heard, the Battle in the Bowl weekend on May 16-17th is growing this year! The Winchester based event has become a staple of the summer rece scene due to it’s spectacular setting and breathtaking race course, and now the epic Sunday racing is joined by the new Battle Gravel 100km open hill Gravelcross event on Saturday, plus we have extended camping on Friday & Saturday nights this year and a bigger event village so you can make a great weekend of it!
The Race Weekend
If you’re coming to race, you can arrive early, in time to practice on Saturday, camp over and be fresh for start line on Sunday. If you’re racing more for fun, you could even sign up for one of shorter 65 or 45km routes on Saturday’s fantastic Battle Gravel ride and make it a huge weekend of riding and racing! But if you’re planning on racing at the sharp end on Sunday, you might just want to take advantage of the chance to familiarise yourself with the course when Saturday practice opens.
Ride Saturday, Spectate on Sunday
If you’re more about the open hills and trails than full on racing, the New Battle Gravel 100 is the perfect centerpiece for your weekend! Why not ride the awesome 100km (or 65/45km option) out over the South Downs (and including the amazing Battle in the Bowl race circuit), fall into your tent for the night and spend Sunday watching the racing? The spectacular venue is perfect for spectators, with 90% of the race circuit visible from the arena, and the racing is always fast and frenetic! Check out our new race preview video here:
