Welcome to CX Sportive

Cycling is changing! For years, it’s been all about what type of rider you were, what kind of bike you needed for what kind of terrain.
Not any more! Do anything bikes and a ride everything attitude are cycling’s new rock and roll, and that’s what CX Sportive events are all about!

All terrain, all bikes, all riders!

Where the road runs out, CX Sportive events keep going!

Join the Gravel Revolution!

Heard about Gravel Bikes, but wondering exactly what they’re for? The answer is – pretty much anything you want! A Gravel Bike is just a road/cyclocross style bike, redesigned to go further and faster, whether you’re on dirt, tarmac, grass, grit or, yes, even gravel!

It’s that simple, and so are our events! It’s just about riding, no limits, no preconceptions, just ride! And it doesn’t matter what you ride – the CX/Gravel revolution inspired us, but our rides are just as much fun on a 29er or 27.5 MTB, or even on your classic, old skool hardtail!

We are currently planning the restart of our full events schedule from April in line with the Government road map for the lifting of Covid restrictions. Events scheduled after March 29th will go ahead as planned. Events scheduled for before March 29th will be rescheduled to after that date. Check individual events for latest details. If you have already booked onto pre March 29th event, you will be contacted directly with updates and your options, in line with our Book With Confidence pledge below.

BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE: Our events are open for booking, and we are commited to honouring your booking with us. In the event that we cannot run an event on the advertised date, your booking will be valid for a rescheduled date or transfer to another event with us of your choice within 18 months. If an event is going ahead, but you can't attend for Covid related reasons (such as quarantining or tier related travel restrictions), you can also request a transfer of your booking to a future event within 18 months. During 2020, we have had 11 events disrupted by lockdown restrictions. We sucessfully rescheduled 7 of those, and have honoured every affected booking  to ensure that no rider loses out.

RIDE IN SAFETY: Where current restrictions allow, we are proceeding with events based on the assessment that our events are a safe activity in current circumstances, for the following reasons:

  1. They are not 'static gatherings'. They spread participants over wide, remote areas and varied time periods by design.
  2. Off-road cycling is a naturally socially distancing activity.
  3. We have risk assessed every aspect of the events and introduced new safety procedures wherever necessary.

We will continue to follow official advice and best practice in running our events, and to monitor changes in advice.

For details of the precautions we are taking to keep events safe, see our full coronavirus information update here.
