This event is going ahead as planned, under the government road map that allows the resumption of organised outdoor sports for March 29th.
RIDE IN SAFETY: We are proceeding with this event based on the assessment that is a safe activity in current circumstances, for the following reasons:
- Outdoor activities are rated as significantly safer than indoor activities.
- The venue for this event gives us an enormous amount of space in which to allow for social distancing of paritcpants and attendees.
- This event is not a ‘static gathering’. It spreads participants over large course area and long time period by design.
- Off-road cycling is a naturally socially distancing activity.
- We have risk assessed every aspect of the events and introduced new safety procedures wherever necessary.
We will continue to follow official advice and best practice in running our events (including mask use, social distancing and hygiene procedure wherever appropriate), and to monitor changes in advice. Details of specific advice and requirements for this event will be released in the run up to the event, and will be based on the latest government and scientific advice at that time.
For details of the general precautions we are taking to keep events safe, see our full coronavirus information update here.
BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE: All our events are open for booking, and we are committed to honouring your booking with us. In the event that we cannot run an event on the advertised date, your booking will be valid for a rescheduled date or transfer to another event with us of your choice within 18 months. If an event is going ahead, but you can’t attend for Covid related reasons (such as quarantining or tier related travel restrictions), you can also request a transfer of your booking to a future event within 18 months. During 2020, we have had 11 events disrupted by lockdown restrictions. We successfully rescheduled 7 of those, and have honoured every affected booking to ensure that no rider loses out.
